We are going to open a research and development center in Hangzhou, China in early 2007, as part of our growing technology division. Our engineering team has the ability to affect the way hundreds of companies conduct their business and improve the efficiency of millions of end users that use our software to perform business critical functions for their companies. We are looking for motivated software engineers who want to be a part of a high-paced seasoned team of professionals that can help MicroStrategy maintain its industry leadership and work on new innovations to our Business Intelligence product suite that will extend that leadership. We value strong analytical skills and strong skills in fundamental Software Engineering.
Successful candidates will travel to our headquarters, located in a suburb of Washington DC, for about two months of training. They will then come back to China, where they will work alongside world-class software professionals that are sent on assignment from our corporate headquarters. These professionals on average have been with MicroStrategy for 7-8 years and are experts in the fields of Computer Science and Business Intelligence. Our employees in China will learn from these experienced professionals while also applying their skills to immediate use in advancing MicroStrategy’s technology. MicroStrategy, Inc. will invest human resources and infrastructure to make sure that our China technology center will have the same level of world class standards in software development as our corporate technology team.

Software Quality Engineer (China)
Location: Hangzhou, China

Role and Responsibility:
· Contribute, as part of a team, towards organizational goal of providing high quality products
· Test, through all stages of the software lifecycle, MicroStrategy products that are used by both end users and IT administrators
· Design, maintain, and execute test cases using knowledge of feature specifications.
· Work with engineers located at the China Technology Center and US Headquarter to analyze test results and debug problems
Qualifications:
· Education: Master or Ph.D degree in Engineering field, Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Science. Excellent school record. Bachelor degree with exceptional academic background (GPA 3.5+ out of 4.0) and IT experience will also be considered.
· Strong oral and written communication skills in English
· Ability to work well in a team as well as cross-team collaboration skills
· Ability to pay close attention to details as well as to see bigger picture of tasks
· Strong analytical skills
· Demonstrable knowledge in one or more IT areas: Software testing, Databases system and SQL, programming language, System administration (Unix or Windows)
